The Boston Celtics' ongoing drama involving Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum has taken another turn.

This time, a broadcast comment from Brian Scalabrine put Brown's recent struggles under the spotlight while praising Tatum's ability to protect the basketball.

During Boston's game, the Celtics announcers highlighted that Tatum had committed zero turnovers.

“If I were to do PR work for Jayson Tatum, I would just remind everyone who led the league in turnovers last year,” Scalabrine said.

The statistic behind the words is accurate.

Brown led the NBA with 259 turnovers during the 2025-26 regular season, finishing just ahead of Luka Doncic, who recorded 255.

Turnovers are part of the cost of carrying a heavy offensive workload. Brown has often been one of Boston's primary creators, so the number offers context.

Still, Scalabrine's comment was likely to attract attention given the tension surrounding Brown and Tatum.

Brown later played down the idea of a serious feud but delivered a pointed line about Tatum's public image.

“He's got a great PR team,” Brown said. “There's no beef, but there might be a little lamb chops and gravy.”

Tatum, meanwhile, has indicated he does not want to keep discussing the situation.

His reported response, “I'm not making any more comments,” suggests he would rather leave the back-and-forth behind.

With Tatum and Brown now on different teams, the attention is unlikely to disappear soon. Their first matchup as opponents is scheduled for Nov. 10, giving the former teammates another chance to let their basketball do the talking.
