As the Los Angeles Lakers get set for a rematch with the Los Angeles Clippers, they will be playing this game with a key player. Guard Austin Reaves has been ruled out for the game due to a calf injury that he suffered on Friday.

ESPN NBA insider Dave McMenamin provided the latest update on Reaves via social media. Guard Jordan Goodwin has also been ruled out of this game due to a right ankle injury.

Reaves left the team's game against the Clippers early and there was some fear about his injury. But Los Angeles revealed that Reaves will be day-to-day going forward, meaning that the guard avoided serious injury.

The guard has been a massive force for the Lakers this season, providing them with a big scoring boost on the court. For the year, Reaves has stepped up his game, averaging 19.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.

Reaves has also shot 36.2 percent from beyond the 3-point line this year. The former undrafted guard has thrived in the new system being run by Lakers head coach JJ Redick.

As the Lakers get set for the rematch with the Clippers, losing Reaves is a big loss. Others will need to step up in his absence if they want to come away with the win.

The Lakers could also be without stars LeBron James and Luka Doncic for this game. Both players have landed on the injury report and are listed as questionable entering the game.

Due to the high stakes of this game, we could see both James and Doncic suit up for this contest. The Lakers are just ahead of the Clippers in the Western Conference standings so every game matters at this point in the season as teams position themselves for seeding.

The Lakers enter this game with a record of 37-21 on the year, holding the No. 3 seed in the West standings. The Clippers will be coming in with a record of 32-27 for the season, sitting in the No. 6 spot in the standings.

Even without Reaves, the Lakers are capable of taking down the Clippers. But beating a team twice in a row isn't easy so the Lakers will have their hands full tonight as they try to make it six wins in a row on the year.
