The new-look Philadelphia 76ers have wasted no time finding success in their 2026-27 NBA campaign.
The 76ers improved their record to 7-1 with a 126-107 win over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night, led by a balanced attack from the starting five featuring LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and VJ Edgecombe.
Edgecombe had his best scoring game of the year so far, recording 21 points on 75% shooting from the field and 50% from behind the 3-point arc. James posted yet another all-around performance with 15 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.

When speaking to reporters postgame, Edgecombe opened up about his blossoming relationship with James.
“That’s my dawg. We talk a lot off the court. He kind of messes with me, some cool big bro type stuff. He be trying to little bro me," the second-year guard said. “He’s a super down-to-earth human being, a great person to be around. He never gives bad vibes. It’s always positive, and that’s someone you want to be around.”
The 76ers now turn their attention toward a matchup against the Detroit Pistons, who handed them their lone loss of the season earlier this year.

That Pistons-76ers matchup will tip off at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
