The Philadelphia 76ers are arguably the biggest winner of the 2024 NBA offseason after signing All-NBA forward Paul George to a massive four-year deal. On Thursday, they brought back yet another one of their key pieces from last season's team.
According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the 76ers have agreed to a deal to bring back free agent guard Kyle Lowry. Lowry finished the 2023-24 season with the Sixers, and is now returning for the 2024-25 season.

It's a one-year deal for Lowry, who posted this video on Instagram to announce his signing:
Lowry appeared in 23 games with the 76ers last season, averaging 8.0 points, 4.6 assists, and 2.8 rebounds across 28.4 minutes per game. He joined the Sixers in February after being traded from the Miami Heat to the Charlotte Hornets in a salary dump move. He was shortly after bought out by Charlotte, and then signed with Philadelphia to aid a postseason push.
Lowry, 38, was drafted in the first round of the 2006 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies. He's played for the Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, Toronto Raptors, Heat, and 76ers across his 18-year career. Lowry is a six-time All-Star and one-time NBA champion with the Raptors in 2019. He was also a member of the 2015-16 All-NBA 3rd Team.
The peak of Lowry's career came from 2014-20 when he made six consecutive All-Star appearances with the Raptors. In 2015-16, he received Most Valuable Player votes, Most Improved Player votes, and Defensive Player of the Year votes.
In his career, Lowry has averaged 14.3 points, 6.2 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game while shooting 42.4 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from deep, and 81.5 percent from the free-throw line. While he's not the same player he was in his prime, he still continued to shoot well in Philadelphia, shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 40.4 percent from deep, and 84.8 percent from the free-throw line in his 23 games with the Sixers.
If Lowry can continue to provide that kind of impact on a now loaded Philadelphia roster, he will prove to be a very valuable role player on a team with championship aspirations.
Along with George and now Lowry, the 76ers added Andre Drummond, Eric Gordon, and Caleb Martin in free agency.

They also re-signed Tyrese Maxey and Kelly Oubre Jr., while drafting Jared McCain in the first round of the NBA Draft.
The 76ers are all-in on winning a championship this season, and Lowry is yet another big signing for an absolutely loaded roster.
