Trevor Story is hoping for a reunion.
Story was teammates with Nolan Arenado from 2016 to 2020 while the two infielders played for the Colorado Rockies. Arenado was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in 2021; Story signed with the Boston Red Sox a year later.
Multiple offseason reports indicate Arenado wants to be traded to Boston. Story lobbied for an Arenado trade earlier this month and sang a similar tune last weekend at the Red Sox's Fenway Fest.

"Just the chance of that happening is exciting," Story told reporters, via NESN.com. "I've played around him a lot. He's as good as it gets. The intensity that he brings to a team is really beneficial. I think he would thrive here.
"There's no doubt in my mind he's still that guy. I think it's easy to look at numbers and kind of make an assumption, but he's still Nolan Arenado. He's still a Hall of Fame-type player in my eyes, and I think in a lot of people's eyes. So, yeah, I'm definitely not following the narrative on that."

Arenado reportedly would waive his no-trade clause to join a limited number of teams, including the Red Sox.
While perhaps not the elite hitter he once was, Arenado still is an offensive threat and a top-notch defender. The 33-year-old hit .272 with 16 homers and .719 OPS in 152 games last season for the Cardinals.
