Perales, the top pitching prospect in the Red Sox farm system, is working his way back from Tommy John surgery. He's expected to return late in the season.

Garcia, nicknamed "The Password," is among the more intriguing prospects in the system. A power-hitting outfielder, Garcia is ranked just 12th on SoxProspects.com but is sixth on MLB Pipeline's Red Sox rankings, one spot behind Perales.

Morán, Stock, Van Belle and Webb all were considered roster longshots. They'll begin the season in the minor leagues.

The Red Sox will make more roster cuts in the coming days and weeks. Their season opener is scheduled for March 27 against the Texas Rangers.
