The Boston Red Sox have a problem at the hot corner. They have Alex Bregman and Rafael Devers at third base. The front office seemingly wants Bregman to play the position while Devers slides to the designated hitter spot.

But Devers is seemingly refusing to come off third base. If these two sides can't agree, Devers could eventually force his way out of Boston. This hasn't happened yet, but it's certainly a possibility in the future if the two sides don't see eye to eye.

Bleacher Report's Zachary Rymer recently suggested the Red Sox could trade Devers to the Chicago Cubs for a multi-player return.

Here's the full deal pitched by Rymer:

"The Cubs are another team that wanted Bregman, reportedly offering him a four-year deal worth $115 million," Rymer wrote. "You can't fault Bregman for saying no, whereas you can fault the Cubs for pivoting to Justin Turner. He was a third baseman once upon a time, but he's now 40 years old and strictly a 1B/DH type.

"Devers is thus a better roster fit for the Cubs, and this trade would see him swapped for a player who doesn't fit them so well anymore. That is Suzuki, whose status as the de facto DH is potentially an awkward one."

This trade would be quite an underpay for the Cubs. Devers is a generational superstar and Chicago would acquire him for two players.

In all reality, it would likely cost the Cubs two, three, or even four more talented prospects in order to bring Devers in. Suzuki could help headline a deal, but this trade is so far off the mark that it wouldn't even keep Boston on the phone to negotiate.
