He will be returning as the team's manager in 2026, however, there will likely be some other coaching changes, per Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

Thomson and the Phillies endured another disappointing end to a promising season in 2025.
The Phillies won the National League East in dominant fashion, and earned a first-round bye as the No. 2 seed in the NL. Unfortunately, that meant a date with the defending-champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL Division Series, and after losing both home games, the Phillies were ousted in four games.
After the Game 4 loss — in which the Phillies lost on a brutal game-ending error in the bottom of the 11th inning — Thomson was asked about his job status heading into the offseason.

"It's out of my control," Thomson said. "I'm not even thinking about it. I've got 60 people in there that are brokenhearted right now. So I'm thinking about that more so than my job right now."

Thomson took over the Phillies midway through the 2022 season after manager Joe Girardi was fired with a 22-29 record. The Phillies immediately turned things around, and ended up going 65-46 the rest of the way, finishing with an 87-75 record and a Wild Card berth, their first postseason appearance since 2011.
The Phillies made a Cinderella run all the way to the World Series in 2022, losing to the Houston Astros in six games.
In each of the next three seasons, the Phillies would increase their win total in the regular season.
Philadelphia went 90-72 and made it to the NLCS in 2023, where they lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Last year, Philadelphia went 95-67, losing to the New York Mets in the NLDS.
This year, they went 96-66, but endured a second consecutive NLDS exit.
