It's best not to read too much into professional athletes' social media posts, but that didn't stop Boston Red Sox fans from speculating about a recent Nolan Arenado Instagram story.

Over the weekend, Arenado used Instagram to share a vintage clip of Manny Ramirez hitting a home run. Arenado has been connected to the Red Sox throughout the offseason and reportedly is "highly, highly motivated" to force a trade to Boston. However, it's unclear whether the Red Sox, in their pursuit of a quality righthanded bat, prefer trading for the St. Louis Cardinals star or signing free agent Alex Bregman.

Red Sox CEO Sam Kennedy recently said the team still could make a major addition before the start of the season, so fans understandably remain hopeful for an Arenado trade.
