The New York Yankees are slated to have a great starting rotation, but Brian Cashman has expressed a desire to add another starting pitcher.
Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodón are expected to miss the start of the season, but they should both return at some point. "As reported Sunday by The Athletic, the Yankees are in talks with the Miami Marlins on a trade for right-hander Edward Cabrera and are also in discussions with the Brewers on Peralta," wrote The Athletic.

He would be an ace for most teams, but on the Yankees, he would slot in right next to Max Fried while Cole recovers. When Cole and Fried are both back, Peralta may be the Yankees' No. 3 starter. Cole, Fried, Peralta, Rodón, Luis Gil and Cam Schlittler would have the potential to be the best rotation in baseball.
The Brewers are returning nearly all of their key players after a trip to the National League Championship Series. Peralta is cheap right now, so the Brewers could be looking to run it back. It will take a phenomenal offer to get him out of Milwaukee, but the Yankees do have interest.
