The New York Yankees have not been playing good baseball recently, and manager Aaron Boone and his staff have caught plenty of criticism.

The Yankees went to the World Series last season, so their struggles this season are quite alarming. Boone has not made any changes and keeps insisting that the team will continue to grind and eventually get better.

It's unclear what the Yankees process is behind closed doors, and perhaps Boone's tone is sterner in the clubhouse. The team's decision-making has been questionable, and one former Yankee, Clint Frazier, outlined one of their flaws.

"(The Yankees) were the only major league team that I ever played for that you didn't know if you were in the lineup until you showed up to the field," Frazier said on his podcast.

Frazier played for the Yankees from 2017-2021. He played one season under Joe Girardi and four under Boone. While the lineup becomes public a few hours before the game, most teams inform players whether they are going to be starting the following day.

This allows players to mentally prepare and get ready to start the game the night before. However, the Yankees do not do that, per Frazier. Is this the reason for some of their sloppy play?

Regardless, the Yankees need to start making changes. The team may make the postseason, but their sloppy, inconsistent play is not indicative of a team that can win the World Series.
