The St. Louis Cardinals will be an interesting team to watch this offseason.
It would not be too surprising if the Cardinals look to add to their roster through free agency. Because of this, they are now being linked to a notable free agent during the early stages of the offseason.
In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Tim Kelly predicted that the Cardinals will sign Alec Bohm to a two-year, $30 million contract in free agency this offseason. In addition, Kelly predicted that Bohm's deal would come with a player option for the 2028 season.

"The Cardinals make sense for Bohm, who is from Omaha and played collegiately at Wichita State. He can sign a multi-year deal with them, but opt out and return to the market if he has a more complete 2027," Kelly wrote.
With the Cardinals needing another impactful infielder, it would make sense if they took a chance on a player like Bohm. He would have the potential to provide their roster with a bit of a boost if he bounced back.
Bohm appeared in 155 games this season with the Philadelphia Phillies, where he had 15 home runs, 88 RBI, and a .249 batting average. Yet, when noting that he had a .274 batting average or better in his previous four seasons, he certainly could bounce back in 2027 with a team like the Cardinals.
It will be intriguing to see if the Cardinals target the 2024 MLB All-Star because of it from here.
