The New York Yankees got off to a horrendous start to the offseason after Juan Soto signed with the New York Mets. But the Yankees managed to put together a successful rebound after losing Soto.

But not everything went perfectly for the Yankees.

FanSided's Zachary Rotman looked to blame Brian Cashman for the Yankees' loss of Tommy Kahnle over the offseason. Losing Kahnle has been the biggest whiff over the last few months, besides Soto, for the Bronx Bombers.

Detroit Tigers pitcher Tommy Kahnle

"The Yankees' bullpen has been a major weakness, particularly of late. Sure, injuries, particularly to Fernando Cruz and Luke Weaver, haven't helped, but guys the Yankees relied on heavily simply haven't panned out," Rotman wrote. "Devin Williams has been shaky, Weaver has looked lost since returning from his injury, and the trio of Mark Leiter Jr., Jonathan Loaisiga, and Ian Hamilton have been untrustworthy.

"Up and down this bullpen, it just isn't good enough. Letting Tommy Kahnle, a reliable arm, walk has turned out to be a massive blunder. Kahnle has a 2.89 ERA in 37 appearances for the Tigers and has been a key late-game arm for them. He's recorded nine saves and tacked on 12 holds. He'd be a perfect late-game arm for Aaron Boone to turn to, but alas."

While the Yankees have a solid one-two punch at the backend of their bullpen, when everybody's healthy, the Bronx Bombers could have used Kahnle's consistency in the seventh and eighth innings of games.

Since signing with the Detroit Tigers, the righty has posted a 0.6 WAR and 2.89 ERA in 37 1/3 innings. Considering he signed for less than $10 million this season, he was well within the Yankees' budget, but the team opted against signing him.

Now it's coming back to bite them, and there's nobody to blame except for Cashman.
