The moves come after the Braves won the NL East for the first time since 2023 and won a playoff series for the first time since winning the World Series in 2021. During the playoffs, Acuna went 3-for-24 with five walks and three stolen bases. Albies tallied a 1.067 OPS in the postseason.

Ronald Acuna Jr. And Ozzie Albies Have Been Successful in Atlanta
Acuna is one of baseball's most dynamic players when he's healthy. After winning the MVP award in 2023, the 28-year-old tore his ACL early in the 2024 season. He returned in late May 2025 and was named the NL Comeback Player of the Year after posting a .290 batting average with 21 home runs and 42 RBIs in 95 games. This past season, Acuna played in 107 games due to multiple injuries.
Albies played in all 162 games in 2026 and posted a .237 batting average with 22 home runs and 73 RBIs. He was selected to his fourth All-Star game, and his first since 2023.
Acuna and Albies have played a big role in the team's success since 2018. In the last nine seasons, Atlanta has reached the playoffs eight times, won the NL East seven times, and won the National League and World Series titles in 2021.
