Honduras comes into the match on a high note, after a 2-0 victory over El Salvador, with Romell Quioto and Dixon Ramírez providing the goals that secured their first three points of the tournament. The bounceback win followed a heavy defeat to Canada in their opener, but the team responded well to keep their qualification hopes intact.

Curaçao, meanwhile, remains unbeaten after back-to-back draws, including an impressive 1-1 result against Canada. Jeremy Antonisse scored a stoppage-time equalizer to keep their hopes alive. Curaçao's defensive discipline has been a highlight, as they have managed to frustrate opponents, allowing only one goal in their first two matches.

These teams have faced off three times since 2019, with Curaçao winning two of three, including their most recent 2-1 win in June 2022 in the Concacaf Nations League.
