The Lightning squandered a 3-1 first-period lead, surrendering four straight goals on Thursday night in a 5-4 loss to the visiting Ottawa Senators. Brayden Point finished with a goal and two assists and Nikita Kucherov scored two goals. Oliver Bjorkstrand opened the scoring 5:35 into the game and Kucherov's first tally at 14:46 of the first period put Tampa Bay up 3-1. Kucherov's second goal with 14 seconds left came 34 seconds after Ottawa scored into an empty net for a 5-3 lead.

New Jersey never led, but tied the game three times before the Carolina Hurricanes went ahead for good with 2:43 left in the game en route to a 6-3 victory padded by a pair of goals in the final minute. Luke Hughes notched a pair of assists while Dougie Hamilton, Cody Glass and Jesper Bratt scored the goals. Veteran winger Evgenii Dadonov, signed as a free agent after scoring 20 goals for the Dallas Stars last season, left the game with a hand injury and did not return.

This is a great NHL matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
