The Timberwolves are off to a rocky start to their 2025-26 campaign, boasting a 2-3 record through five games. Minnesota is on a two-game losing streak, not aided by the fact that star 2-guard Anthony Edwards is currently dealing with an injury. Most recently, the Timberwolves fell 116-115 to the Los Angeles Lakers despite 33 points, five rebounds, and six assists from Julius Randle, and 30 points and seven rebounds by blossoming forward Jaden McDaniels.

Charlotte, on the other hand, is doing about as expected, sitting at 2-3 through five games. In its last game, the Hornets fell 123-107 to the Orlando Magic. Showing out in that game for Charlotte was star guard LaMelo Ball, who put up 17 points, seven rebounds, and 13 assists in the defeat.
