Dan Lanning will look to ensure No. 8 Oregon is back to its best at Rutgers on Saturday and bounces back quickly after suffering a first defeat ot the season last time out. And the Ducks have lost ground in the AP rankings after Indiana moved to a 6-0 record at the Big Ten summit thanks to last week’s 30-20 win in Eugene.
Rutgers, meanwhile, has lost three in a row and now faces the unenviable task of attempting to strip down one of the most intimidating offenses in the nation. The Scarlet Knights are still in search of a first Big Ten win this year and are being tipped to lose this one by more than two full scores.
Dante Moore stands a fine chance of bouncing back this week against a pass defense that ranks 122nd in the United States and is allowing more than 280 passing yards per game. However, Lanning could also use this as an opportunity to improve a running game that has at times been lacking, with more difficult fixtures against the likes of USC and Washington still to come over the next month or so.
