After missing the cut at Augusta National in April, things didn’t improve for Bryson DeChambeau in the second major of the year at the PGA Championship.

After a difficult opening round on Thursday, where he shot six-over-par, DeChambeau responded with a much stronger performance on Friday, particularly on the back nine. However, he still finished at one-over for the day, ultimately missing the cut for the second straight major.

He did close his round with three consecutive birdies to finish at seven-over overall, and despite missing the weekend, he still earned a $4,300 payout from the PGA Championship, according to David Rumsey of Front Office Sports.

A little over $4,000 is not a significant amount for DeChambeau, especially given the massive contract he signed with the LIV Golf League, widely considered one of the largest in golf history.

However, even that payout is further offset by normal tournament expenses, including a weekly base fee and travel costs for his caddie, meaning he likely did not take home much — if any — net profit from his two days at Aronimink Golf Club.

This year, the PGA Championship also set a record purse of $20.5 million, with the winner earning not only the Wanamaker Trophy but also a staggering $3.69 million payday.
