Bryson DeChambeau took to social media on Sunday morning to announce his withdrawal from LIV Golf's tournament in Mexico City.

The two-time major champion revealed he suffered a wrist injury at some point during the tournament.

"I experienced some discomfort in my wrist during yesterday's round and have decided to withdraw from the final round of LIV Golf Mexico City to prevent further injury," he said. "Not how I wanted this week to go, but wishing the Crushers a strong finish. I'm going to take a few days to get evaluated and hope to be ready for LIV Golf Virginia."

The LIV Golf Virginia tournament is scheduled for for May 7-10, the week before the PGA Championship at Aronimink near Philadelphia, PA. DeChambeau's decision to withdraw from the tournament came after he was seen openly criticizing the playing surface and the bunkers.

“You got destroyed grass… oh, this is rough,” cameras caught DeChambeau saying after speaking with an official about the lack of grass around his ball.

He was also heard complaining: “Guys, this is what we’re playing on apparently!”

Before his exit from the tournament, DeChambeau sat at 2-over and 16 shots off the lead of Jon Ram. It's been a tough few weeks for the LIV Golf star who missed the cut at the Masters after carding a triple bogey on his final hole.

He previously won back-to-back LIV Golf tournaments before the year's first major, though.
