The Montreal Canadiens picked up a 2-0 win over the St. Louis Blues, and goaltender Jacob Fowler was undoubtedly the main reason for it.

Fowler was sensational for the Canadiens against the Blues. This is because the 21-year-old put together an incredible 46-save shutout for the Canadiens against the Central Division club.

According to NHL Public Relations, Fowler has set a record for the most saves in a shutout by a rookie in Canadiens history with 46. Former Canadiens goalies Cayden Primeau and Tony Esposito previously held the record with 41 saves each.

Fowler setting this kind of franchise record only shows further just how good he has been for the Canadiens early on in his career. This kind of performance should make Canadiens fans even more excited about his future with the Original Six club.

Following his historic performance against the Blues, Fowler now has a 6-1-0 record, a 1.54 goals-against average, a .942 save percentage, and two shutouts in seven games this season with the Canadiens. With numbers like these, the 2023 NHL third-round pick has been fantastic for Montreal.
