After a rough start to her WNBA career, Angel Reese is enjoying her first season as a member of the Atlanta Dream but realizes they have yet to fully achieve their main goal.

"Playoffs and championship, I don't know about anything else," Reese told Monica McNutt of her goals during a sit-down interview on ESPN. "I don't know about anything else. I came here to win a championship."

Asked about there being pressure for her to win a championship now that she's in Atlanta, Reese shrugged it off, dropping a well-known quote.

"Pressure makes diamonds, baby," she told McNutt.

Reese's comments arrive with her team right in position to claim a spot in the postseason if the season ended today. As of this writing, they are 16-10 and sixth in the standings, with a game on the way on Wednesday evening against the Dallas Wings.

In her third season in the WNBA, Reese has been a key part of the Dream's success so far, averaging a double-double of 15.4 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. She achieved her third All-Star appearance last weekend,

Reese has yet to appear in a postseason during her career, so this situation seems to have worked out well for her. In her first two seasons with the Chicago Sky, the team was 23-61 and nowhere near the playoffs.

She infamously criticized her former team near the end of last season, resulting in the offseason trade to the Dream. So far, she has fit in nicely with a roster that also features All-Stars Allisha Gray and Rhine Howard, both of whom are averaging double digits in scoring this season.

Making the playoffs seems likely for Reese with the Dream, as they are ahead of the New York Liberty and Washington Mystics in the standings. The closest two teams to the eighth playoff spot are the expansion teams, the Toronto Tempo (10-17) and Portland Fire (11-17).

Atlanta's schedule could bring some challenges. In addition to facing Dallas on Wednesday evening, they'll have games against playoff teams, the Indiana Fever, Minnesota Lynx, Las Vegas Aces, and New York Liberty. However, if they can overcome the pressure of some tough teams, they have a chance to move up in the standings, currently trailing second place by just two and a half games.
