Angel Reese continues to showcase why she is one of the most exciting rookies the WNBA has ever seen. She and Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark became the first two rookies to make the All-Star team since 2014, and both are vying to land the coveted Rookie of the Year Award.

Though the consensus is Clark will win, Reese continues to make it a close race. The Chicago Sky rookie has been on a tear, securing double-doubles on a regular basis. Now she has surpassed WNBA legend Candace Parker in that category.

Reese secured her 13th consecutive double-double on Sunday when the Sky took on the Seattle Storm. Though the Sky would fall 84-71, the night was marked with a historic performance from the rookie. Reese would post 17 points and 14 rebounds en route to her WNBA record.

The previous consecutive double-double record was set by Candace Parker, who secured 10 in a row between the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

Reese spoke to reporters after the game, stating, "I'm just trying to be consistent for my teammates, doing whatever I can to help my team. I think I didn't do enough tonight, but just being able to be there for my teammates and knowing that I have a job to do every day no matter if I'm a rookie or a vet."

Despite her amazing feat, Reese still took the moment to instead be critical of her performance and state that she "didn't do enough."

Sky head coach Teresa Weatherspoon also commented on Reese's new WNBA record.

"It's absolutely amazing to see," the first-year head coach said of Reese's feat. "She might be surprising herself, but she's not surprising me. It's something that she can do because it's something that she puts the work in to be able to do. And it's a will and want-to... it's awesome to see the work that you have to put in to be able to do this."

Reese continues to showcase a work ethic and skill set that should lead to her being a dominant force in the WNBA for years to come. The next feat she can accomplish is to win Rookie of the Year, though she will need to outperform Clark.

According to current odds on Bovada, Clark is at -500 odds to win ROTY and Reese is second at +225. Both women have been on fire this season, and it will be interesting to see if Reese can catch Clark by the end of the season.
