The Green Bay Packers are fresh off a dominant 27-13 Week 1 win over the Detroit Lions. Now, they are facing a short week with a Thursday Night Football matchup coming up against Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders.

In their season opener, the Commanders took care of business against the New York Giants. They won by a final score of 21-6.

For the Packers, facing off against Daniels will provide a challenge. He is an excellent passing quarterback, but he's an extremely dangerous player on the ground as well. Green Bay will need to contain him.

Micah Parsons gives the Packers the best pass rusher they have had in years. Against Washington, they will need him to make an obvious impact.

Ahead of the big showdown, Parsons spoke out and sent a clear warning to Daniels. He's ready to do his part in containing the Commanders' second-year signal caller.

When talking about defending against Daniels, Parsons made his opinion perfectly clear.

"We've got horse engines now. I don't see anybody outrunning me from the edge," Parsons said.

Parsons made his debut with Green Bay against the Lions. He recorded his first sack with his new team, chasing down Jared Goff while he rolled out of the pocket. This week, he will be asked to get pressure on Daniels, but also prevent him from getting away and carving up the defense on the ground.

Outside of Parsons, the Packers have a talented defensive front. Lukas Van Ness and Rashan Gary both played key roles against Detroit. They will need all three players and the defensive tackles to step up against a much more mobile quarterback in Week 2.

Clearly, Parsons is confident in his defense's ability to contain Daniels. It will be interesting to see if they're able to put together the same kind of dominating defensive performance against Washington as they did against the Lions.

Should Green Bay be able to come through with a second straight win to kick off the 2025 season, the hype surrounding the team will get very loud. After Week 1, the Packers are already being talked about as a clear-cut Super Bowl contender.

The presence of Parsons has a lot to do with that hype. He'll look to make his impact felt even heavier against the Commanders and Daniels.
