Nintendo had one more surprise left for fans before the end of 2020, and it was the reveal that Sephiroth will be joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
The villainous one-winged angel from the Final Fantasy franchise will join the fighting game at a later date, but fans can get a look at how Sephiroth plays in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate via a special stream this week.
As with other demo streams, the Sephiroth presentation will feature series producer Masahiro Sakurai as he breaks down how the character plays, when the fighter will be released and any other tidbits that fans need to know.

SEPHIROTH SMASH ULTIMATE DEMO START TIME
The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate stream featuring Sephiroth will start Thursday, December 17, at 5 p.m. EDT.
HOW TO WATCH SEPHIROTH SMASH ULTIMATE DEMO ONLINE
As with all of Nintendo's online presentations, fans can catch the entire stream of Sephiroth's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate demo on the company's various social media platforms.
The YouTube stream has yet to go live, but you can visit the official Nintendo channel to stay up to date.
Nintendo's Twitch channel will also stream the Sephiroth gameplay in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
If you're unable to watch either, you can follow Nintendo's Twitter and Facebook accounts to get up-to-date information on the stream during and after it's completed.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Aside from the special breakdown of Sephiroth in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, fans should also expect to find out the release date for the latest character.
It's unclear when exactly Sephiroth will be available in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Fans have seen characters have their release dates a week or more after their special demo was released. There has been one exception.
When Terry Bogard's demo completed, it was revealed that the fighter would be available to download immediately after the stream finished. We don't expect that to be the case with Sephiroth, but we're pretty much guaranteed to get a proper release date.
Fans should also expect some other information regarding Sephiroth's release, such as what the new Smash Ultimate stage will look like, and what soundtracks will be made available to listen to while fighting.
Usually with these character demo streams, new content for Mii Fighters, such as new costumes, is also revealed.
The release date for the latest batch of amiibo for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was announced last week, but expect a summary of when gamers can start buying them. We may even get information on amiibo for the other DLC characters, like Min Min, Minecraft Steve and Sephiroth.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now for Nintendo Switch.
