In conversations with Newsweek, Kelly Haskins, VP Marketing at Launch Credit Union answered the following questions:

1. How does the history of your institution inform its present-day policies?

Launch Credit Union began in 1963 for only those who worked at Kennedy Space Center. Since then, Launch has expanded its membership eligibility to include anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in 9 different counties to include Brevard, Volusia, Orange, Seminole, Flagler, Osceola, Indian River, Lake and Polk. Launch offers many different types of both personal and business accounts to help save our members money and to provide the best financial services to fit our members' needs.

2. How would you describe your company's contribution and commitment to its community?

Launch CU is highly engaged in our local communities. We are embedded in our local schools supporting them with financial education for our youth. We have two high school branches which provide hands-on experience for high school students to learn skills in working as a teller. We also provide financial educations workshops to many different community groups. Launch also provides college scholarships through its Go Beyond Foundation. Launch provides many sponsorships in community events. Our employees volunteer their time packing food for food pantries, they participate in community walks, and much more.

3. What key benefits and permanent features does your company offer to customers?

Launch offers many types of both personal and business accounts, home loans, business lending, personal lending, Visa Credit Cards, financial education, digital banking and much more. Launch offers helpful programs and products to help with home-buying including a First Time Homebuyer Savings program, a No Closing Cost and No Down Payment program, Home Loan Assistance Programs, a Preferred Realtor Program, Real Estate Investment loans and more.
