In a viral TikTok video, a Siberian husky puppy is filmed meeting a kitten for the very first time in his life, and his heartening reaction to the feline has quickly turned him into a social-media sensation.
The clip, shared in January, under the username @north_husky_dog, shows the small puppy from the United Kingdom chilling on the couch. He is smelling the gray kitten, who is just as curious about him as he is, circling around the feline as if investigating the new family member. "Husky Puppy Meets Kitten for the First Time! Adorable Reaction Alert," says the caption.

While dogs and cats have always been portrayed as mortal enemies, this couldn't be any further from the truth.
A study carried out by Italian scientists in 2020, and published in the journal PLOS ONE, proved that the two can easily live together without much conflict, and they can even become best of friends.
The study found that over 64 percent of the cats and dogs living together also played together; 58 percent chased each other; and 41 percent fought. Almost two-thirds of the pets sometimes playfully "ambushed" the other.
While most dogs can be trained to live peacefully with cats, some breeds are better suited for life with a feline than others.
The American Kennel Club says that these breeds include basset hounds; beagles; bulldogs; cavalier King Charles spaniels; collies; golden retrievers; Labrador retrievers; papillons; and pugs.

The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 14.7 million views and more than 1.2 million likes on the platform.
One user, Emma77764, commented: "These 2 are going to create a lot of mischief together."
Sinchen-Bienchen posted: "Love how careful and curious the husky was in the beginning and then like … Play with me."
Satarius added: "Husky kept trying to Alpha Dog the kitten and finding out that small and cute ain't beta."
Newsweek reached out to @north_husky_dog for comment via TikTok comments. We could not verify the details of the case.
