PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has a new update on its Test Server. Update 9, as it is called, adds a new mode that lets players spectate the player who killed them when their match is over. It also features a few minor interface and gameplay fixes to offer a smoother experience. A recent Steam Community post lists the complete patch notes.

Players can now spectate their killer by clicking the "watch" button on their match result screen. You can report a player you are spectating in Killer Spectate mode by pressing R. If you click Death Cam, you won't be able to use the Killer Spectate mode.

Bug Fixes

Test Server Update 9 will go live once these features have been polished by the small community of testers willing to engage with the new feature. It's worth noting that this particular Test Server update resides on the main Test Server and is not affiliated with the Experimental Test Server with the new 4x4 map closed beta. If you want to see what killer spectating is all about, you'll need to leave the 4x4 server and go to the main one.

This feature isn't quite as interesting as the emotes released in a previous Test Server update, but it's still nice to see PUBG's list of spectator options continue to grow. As long as it's not manipulated by cheaters, the PUBG community will likely welcome spectator mode with open arms.

PUBG is available now on PC and Xbox One. Test Server Update 9, and the killer spectating feature, are exclusive to PC at this time.
