Princess Eugenie has shared the first photos of her newborn daughter, revealing the British royal family’s newest arrival just one day after her birth in Lisbon. The images mark the public’s first glimpse of the baby.
The photo confirms the safe arrival of the newest member of the Brooksbank family and formally introduces her to the public amid heightened interest in the York sisters’ growing families.
The baby joins the line of succession and expands Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s family at a moment when the Yorks remain under intense scrutiny, shaping how the princess navigates her public role and private life moving forward.

Buckingham Palace said in its announcement: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6:20 p.m. GMT, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal.
"The baby was born weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces. Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.”
New Royal Arrival in Portugal
Princess Eugenie, 36, welcomed her third child—and first daughter—with husband Jack Brooksbank, 40, on August 3. The baby joins big brothers August Philip Hawke, 5, and Ernest George Ronnie, 3.
The princess posted the first photo on Instagram, showing the newborn in a pink onesie with tiny wings on the back. The image, taken by Jack, mirrors the palace’s official release and underscores the couple’s preference for sharing personal milestones directly with the public.
Eugenie captioned her post: “Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie.”

Where She Fits in Royal Family
The baby becomes 15th in the line of succession, following Eugenie, who currently holds the 12th position. Her arrival continues the generational expansion of the royal family, even as Eugenie and her sister Princess Beatrice maintain non‑working royal status and pursue careers outside the monarchy.
The birth also comes as the York family remains under heightened public attention. Eugenie and Beatrice have reportedly focused on protecting their young children from the fallout surrounding their parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, after Andrew’s legal troubles and the stripping of their parents’ honors in 2025. Despite the turmoil, the sisters’ titles remain intact.
Growing Family Rooted in Two Countries
Eugenie and Jack split their time between the U.K. and Portugal, where Jack works for businessman Michael Meldman. Their daughter’s birth in Lisbon reflects the family’s increasingly international lifestyle, which began when they relocated abroad in 2022.
The couple has maintained ties to the U.K. through Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace, returning frequently for family events and Eugenie’s work in the art world.
Eugenie has served as a director at Hauser & Wirth since 2015 and continues to champion causes including the Scoliosis Association U.K., Teenage Cancer Trust, Elephant Family and The Anti‑Slavery Collective, which she co‑founded.
Look Back at Pregnancy Announcement
Buckingham Palace confirmed Eugenie’s pregnancy in May, noting that August and Ernest were “very excited” to welcome another sibling.
Eugenie shared her own announcement on Instagram with a photo of her sons holding an ultrasound image, captioned: “Baby Brooksbank due 2026! ♥️”
The new baby’s name has not yet been announced, but royal watchers expect the reveal to follow once the family settles into life with their newest addition.
