A dachshund couple are warming the hearts of viewers on Instagram after a viral video captured the father-to-be snuggling up to his pregnant mate in a series of tender moments.

First posted to the platform by the pets' owner under @harry_holly_hope__dachshunds, the video, shared on November 25, 2025, has since drawn more than 5.1 million views and over 463,000 likes, delighting dog lovers with its glimpse into canine companionship.

In the widely shared clip, a tan-shaded dachshund named Holly is seen lying on a dog bed, her body visibly round with pregnancy. By her side is Harry, the father, laying close in what viewers interpreted as a protective pose.

In the second part of the video, he is shown cuddling beside her, and in the final frame, gently licking her in an apparent show of affection.

An overlaid text on the moving clip read: "POV: [Point of view] Your beautiful girl is pregnant, and the father is very attentive." The caption added: "We raised him right. Harry was by Holly’s side every step of the way!"

The moment has resonated with viewers, many of whom left heartfelt and amused comments.

"Not him kissing her forehead," one viewer said, while another added: "Her man her man."

"Does your dog offer training for human men?" a third viewer shared.

"He’s the bestest little boy, yes you raised him well," one commenter said.

"This is so precious," another posted.

Dachshunds, originally bred in Germany for hunting badgers, are known today for their loyalty and attachment to their companions. That closeness seems to be reflected in Harry's actions, as he remained at Holly’s side throughout her pregnancy, according to the Instagram caption.

The breed is known to be affectionate, and, with their long torsos, short legs and spirited personalities, they are a favorite among small-dog owners around the world. While often bold and stubborn, dachshunds are also deeply devoted to their human families and thrive on physical closeness. Owners are often used to their dachshunds following them from room to room, demanding lap time, and often burrowing under blankets to be close at night.
