What To Know
FDA records show the products were recalled because the water was bottled under insanitary conditions.
Packaging food or water under insanitary conditions can be a concern because it may increase the risk that a product becomes contaminated during bottling or handling.
The FDA uses this designation when conditions during production do not meet required sanitary standards designed to protect public health.
The largest portion of the recall covers 379,868 units of Valley Springs 100% Natural Bottled Water sold in 1‑gallon (128 fluid ounce) plastic jugs with plastic caps.
The product carries UPC 0 31193‑00701 9 and was distributed in Illinois and Wisconsin, according to the FDA. This recall is listed under recall number H‑0534‑2026 and applies to all codes.
Additional recalled products include Valley Springs 100% Natural Bottled Water with Fluoride Added, also sold in 1‑gallon plastic containers.
The FDA lists 7,840 units of this product as affected, with UPC 0 31193‑01301 0, under recall number H‑0535‑2026.
The product was bottled by Valley Springs Artesian Gold, LLC in Portage, Wisconsin, and distributed in Illinois and Wisconsin.
A third recall covers Valley Springs Steamed Distilled Water, sold in 1‑gallon (128 fluid ounce) containers with UPC 0 31193‑00601 2.
The FDA lists 263,440 units affected under recall number H‑0536‑2026, with the same stated reason: the water was bottled under insanitary conditions.
All three recalls are tied to the same FDA Event ID, 98410, and were voluntarily initiated by the firm.
The FDA records indicate that initial notification to consignees or the public was conducted through multiple channels, including email, fax, letter, press release, telephone, or in‑person visits.
The recalls were initiated on February 6, 2026, and the FDA assigned a Class II classification on February 26, 2026.
All three recall listings are marked as ongoing, with no termination date provided.
What a Class II Recall Means
According to the FDA, a Class II recall involves a situation in which use of or exposure to a product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is considered remote.
The FDA lists the recalling firm as Valley Springs Artesian Gold, LLC, located at N8682 Muskrat Road, Portage, Wisconsin.
