Many of us like to pamper our pooches, but one owner has taken that to a whole new level by giving her Labrador her very own dog bedroom, complete with a color-coordinated wardrobe.

It's important for any dog to have their own space where they can stretch out and feel safe. While that usually involves pushing their owners off the sofa or out of bed, Katherine Saballos from Florida had other ideas. Just having a small bed tucked away in the corner wouldn't do for her Labrador, named Leia, so her owner spent over a year curating the dream dog room instead.

While some might see it as excessive, Saballos told Newsweek that "the companionship of a dog is like no other, and there's nothing we wouldn't do for her." Since they had the room spare, it seemed only fitting that Leia, who turns 2 later this month, should get it all to herself.

Her bedroom contains not just one, but two beds; a wardrobe full of leads, collars and accessories that are organized to perfection; a framed portrait of herself; and a crate for a safe space. Saballos shared the footage on her TikTok account (@katesaballos) and it has left social-media users amazed. Leia's "special episode of Cribs" has already been viewed more than 2.3 million times and received over 273,000 likes in a matter of days.

Saballos said: "I'm a very organized person, so having everything displayed and neatly organized gives me the serotonin I need. I love that she loves her room; she's a very independent dog and loves her space, so to see her willingly go and relax makes us so happy.

"We gave her plenty of options to make it cozy. One day, she'll just want to lay on her soft bed; others, she'll lay on the carpet. For the first couple of days, we took turns sleeping with her in the room, and she loved that."

It's no surprise to know that our pets mean a great deal to us. For nine in 10 Americans, they are more than just a pet; they're considered part of the family, according to a May 2022 YouGov survey of 1,000 U.S. adults. In fact, 51 percent of dog owners consider themselves to be their parent, and 33 percent claim to be their dog's best friend.

Due to the loving bond that most owners have with their pup, they will do just about anything for them, including 57 percent who buy them holiday gifts, and 40 percent who have birthday celebrations for their dogs. While not every dog is as lucky as Leia to have their own bedroom, 64 percent of dog owners are more than happy to let them sleep in their bed next to them.

The Social Media Reaction

Saballos has been amazed by the reaction to Leia's room tour on TikTok. She said that people have been overwhelmingly kind. The proud dog owner has been inundated with questions and responses about the room, with many fellow owners wanting to do something similar for their pup now, too.

It certainly hasn't been easy to create such a perfect dog bedroom. Saballos said, "it's taken a lot of work," but she couldn't be happier with the way it has turned out.

"Leia is our baby. I knew at an early age I didn't want kids, so when we got the house, our next step was to get a dog, and she's just been the light of our life," Saballos added.

With more than 2,900 comments on the video, many TikTok users posted about how much their pets would love this setup, too. One person wrote: "my dog sent me this and told me to step up my game."

Another responded: "Best version of Cribs I've seen."

"I will show this to my dog and tell him he can have nice things when he learns to not chew on everything but his toys lol [laugh out loud]," reads another comment.
