The Baltimore Orioles have been one of the most aggressive teams this offseason, and could still pull off another big free agent signing.

The Orioles have added some of the biggest names in free agency this offseason, signing former New York Mets slugger Pete Alonso and star reliever Ryan Helsley. Baltimore also made a big splash in the trade market, bolstering its starting rotation in a trade with division rival Tampa Bay Rays for Shane Baz.

MLB.com's Paul Casella listed the Orioles as a "team to watch" to remain aggressive this offseason and sign Philadelphia Phillies star hurler Ranger Suárez.

"Good news for any team still looking to improve this offseason: There are plenty of impact free agents available across the diamond, from Kyle Tucker and Cody Bellinger in the outfield to Alex Bregman and Bo Bichette in the infield to Ranger Suárez and Framber Valdez on the mound to J.T. Realmuto behind the plate," Casella wrote Tuesday.

"As for the pitching side of things, the market has been a bit slower to develop for the likes of Suárez and Valdez, but the Orioles -- who remain interested in adding a top-of-the-rotation arm -- are certainly a team to watch on that front."

Suárez was named an All-Star for the first time in 2024 and probably should have earned another selection this season, posting a 3.20 ERA with 151 strikeouts in 26 appearances. The 30-year-old starter is one of the top remaining free agent pitchers available and is projected to sign a massive six-year contract worth roughly $160 million, according to Spotrac.

The Orioles have multiple question marks surrounding their starting rotation heading into next season, with Grayson Rodriguez, Kyle Bradish and Zach Eflin all missing significant time this season due to injury. With Baltimore loading up its roster this offseason, it wouldn't be surprising to see the team add another top hurler like Suárez.
