Federal agents searched and seized a gray Range Rover during a late‑night operation at a parking lot for a restaurant located near Nancy Guthrie's home overnight on Friday-Saturday. It came shortly after a law enforcement operation, confirmed to be connected to the search, took place at a nearby home.
Video images from the restaurant broadcast by local news station KGUN 9 showed FBI agents and Pima County deputies photographing, searching and covering the vehicle in a Culver’s restaurant parking lot, approximately 2 miles from Guthrie’s home in Tucson, Arizona.
A woman at the Culver’s immediately hung up when Newsweek contacted the restaurant by phone about 6:40 a.m. (8:40 a.m ET).

Officials have not publicly said who owns the SUV or why it was taken, including whether or not the activity is linked to the search for 84-year-old Guthrie, the mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie.
Newsweek contacted FBI Phoenix via email and the Pima County Sheriff's Department via website contact form early on Saturday, outside of regular office hours.
Other law enforcement activity confirmed to be connected to the search took place the same night.
New photographs show FBI agents and SWAT teams conducting an operation about 2 miles from Guthrie’s home.

Photos from outside the restaurant show FBI agents overseeing the towing of the Range Rover from the lot.

The vehicle activity unfolded alongside a broader law enforcement operation that included a SWAT response at a nearby residential location and multiple detentions, though officials stressed that detentions are not arrests and declined to identify any suspects.
The sheriff’s department has said the investigation is being conducted jointly with the FBI and that details remain limited at the bureau’s request.
"Law enforcement activity is underway at a residence near E Orange Grove Rd & N First Ave related to the Guthrie case," Pima County Sheriff's Department said on X shortly before midnight local time (2 a.m. ET), after news reports emerged. "Because this is a joint investigation, at the request of the FBI, no additional information is currently available."
The FBI has increased its reward to $100,000 for information leading to her location or an arrest, as investigators continue to pursue multiple leads.
