Meghan Markle has shared a rare new photo of her daughter Princess Lilibet to mark her daughter's fourth birthday.

The Duchess of Sussex posted the snap on her Instagram account and said Lili made their lives "brighter and better."

Lilibet was born on June 4, 2021, and is younger sister to Prince Archie, born in May 2018.

Meghan captioned the post: "Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives—and each day is brighter and better because of it. Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!"

Meghan and Prince Harry have a long-standing policy of not showing their children's faces in pictures, but appear to have been gradually relaxing it since Meghan went back onto Instagram in 2025.

Lili's face is not completely visible in the picture as she snuggles up on Meghan's lap.

The duchess recently told her Confessions of a Female Founder podcast how Lilibet sometimes joins her for business meetings: "We became moms in the pandemic, post-pandemic culture where there is so much working from home. I don't leave the house to go to an office, my office is here."

"Lili still naps," she continued. "She gets picked up early and she naps, she only has a half day in preschool.

"If she wakes up and she wants to find me, she knows where to find me, even if my door is closed to the office. She'll be sitting there on my lap during one of these meetings with a grid of all the executives…I wouldn't have it any other way."

The new picture comes after Meghan shared a mood board of photos marking her marriage to Harry on their seventh anniversary in May.

Meghan captioned the picture: "A lifetime of stories. Thanks to all of you (whether by our side, or from afar) who have loved and supported us throughout our love story—we appreciate you. Happy anniversary!"

The board showed small polaroid style photos of Meghan and Harry during their royal lives, along with memories, such as the words to Stand by Me, which was among songs performed at their wedding.

Pictures of Archie and Lilibet with their faces visible were also among the collection, arranged around a sign which read: "Our Love Story."

There was a photo of Harry and Meghan during their engagement photo shoot and another from their wedding day.

Another image showed them sheltering under umbrellas during a visit to Victoria Park, in Dubbo, Australia, on October 17, 2018, during the royal tour in which they announced Meghan was pregnant with Archie.
