The Toronto Blue Jays had Bo Bichette at the top of their lineup all season. He was even at the top of the lineup in the World Series as he battled a grueling injury. But Bichette is headed to free agency this winter, and it might be difficult for the Blue Jays to re-sign him.

The Blue Jays are set to battle a few other top clubs in the league in Bichette's sweepstakes.

CBS Sports' RJ Anderson recently projected Bichette would sign a massive seven-year, $189 million deal in free agency this winter, which is firmly in the Blue Jays' price range.

"The key question facing Bichette's free agency is how teams will view him positionally," Anderson wrote. "If a club is willing to stomach his shortstop defense, then the comparison to Willy Adames' agreement with the Giants (seven years, $182 million) is a good reference point. I'm going to assume that will be the case, at least in the short term. I'll add in some extra coin because of Bichette's age advantage and inflation."

Bichette should be worth around $200 million. The Blue Jays recently handed Vladimir Guerrero Jr. a contract worth half a billion dollars. They were also able to retain Shane Bieber on an affordable salary.

Signing Bichette to a deal like this would be the perfect headliner for the Blue Jays' offseason.
