Landman on Paramount Network is about to wrap its first season and one of its stars, Michelle Randolph, spoke about a potential second.
Newsweek has contacted Paramount Network via email.
Why It Matters
Its first few episodes have smashed records on Paramount Network's streaming service, Paramount+, and has ensured the ongoing success of co-creator Taylor Sheridan who is behind other hits such as Yellowstone, 1923, Lioness and 1883.

What to Know
One of the show's breakout stars, Michelle Randolph who plays Norris' feisty daughter, Ainsley Norris, spoke to Newsweek about the possibility of Landman returning for a highly anticipated sophomore run.
"I think there's so much more of the story to tell, so if we get to do a Season 2, I know that for a fact that everyone would be overjoyed to do that," said Randolph. "I don't think anyone wants to stop telling the story."
Set in the heart of West Texan oil fields and based on the documentary podcast Boomtown, the drama stars Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton, as Tommy Norris, a crisis management executive for an oil company. Alongside Thornton is a star-studded cast that includes Demi Moore, Jon Hamm and Ali Larter.
More than 14.9 million people have watched the series in its first four weeks on Paramount+, making it the most viewed TV show on the streaming service, as reported by the network.

The show's other stars including Moore and Thornton had also spoken about the likelihood of a second season for Landman.
At time of writing, neither Paramount Network nor Sheridan has confirmed a second season.
What People Are Saying
Demi Moore said in May per Deadline: "I thought we looked really good. He was lovely and I've known Billy Bob Thornton for a long time. I've already completed the first season and I'm excited for us to start the second which will be at the beginning of next year."
Billy Bob Thornton told TheWrap in November:** "I'm signed up for it. Ten years ago, it wouldn't have been fun for me. But there's a different perception now. All the actors want to be in streaming now. That's where you get to develop a character. What director or writer or actor doesn't want to be able to do a movie that they don't cut to an hour and a half?"
Michelle Randolph gave Newsweek a hint of what is to come at the end of the first season: "The stakes just get higher and higher, and we become more emotionally invested into the characters and the story. I think everything just becomes more concrete and the family dynamic is really strong...It's a great season."
Several of the show's fans have taken to X, formerly Twitter, shared their thoughts on a potential second season of Landman.
@NyikoChuma wrote: "I need a season 2 of Landman expeditiously."
@emoneyhungry said: "Landman season one was good, hopefully they make a season 2 cause nowadays you never know with these new series," added
What's Next
There are two episodes left in Landman's debut season. Episode 9 titled "WolfCamp" will be released Sunday January 5 via Paramount+, and the finale titled "The Crumbs of Hope," on Sunday January 12.
