A viral video showing the difference between a farm dog who grew up around cows and a golden retriever just there for the vibes has left internet users in hysterics.
Kyra Egan, 30, shared the video on TikTok (@kyra_egan) highlighting the stark contrast between Mya the black Labrador who loves the cows, and Soma the golden retriever who would rather be anywhere else.
Mya, 10, was introduced to life on the farm as a puppy and she's become a regular visitor to the cow barn. Indeed, Egan, from Omro, Wisconsin, told Newsweek that the cows love Mya just as much, and they even "consider her part of the herd."

"Mya is very comfortable going in the pens by the cows," Egan said. "She has been around most of the cows since they were born, so they are very used to her. Being licked by the cows and licking them back is a daily occurrence for her."

...
Soma, however, is much happier around people. She was two when Egan met her husband, Ed, and then relocated from the city to the farm. It certainly shows that she didn't grow up as a farm dog and came to it later, as she's far more anxious around the cows.
"We joke that Soma's purpose in life is to cuddle. She is a very loving and emotionally intelligent dog that prefers to be cuddled up with us or chasing a ball at home. She is still relatively anxious but has grown to be more comfortable," Egan said. "I think the differences between the dogs is funny. It's fun to see how their personalities are so different and how they have different interests, just like humans."
The hilarious TikTok video has gone viral, with over 1.5 million views and 331,800 likes at the time of writing. The footage shows Mya licking the cows gently, while Soma wanders round the barn nervously.
While it's been a couple of years since Soma came to the farm, she still gets nervous around the adult cows. Egan tries to give her as much exposure as possible and reinforces "her bravery" with treats.
Neither of the dogs have formal roles on the farm, called Egan Family Dairy, Inc., although Mya does like to consider herself as a watch dog or part of the "welcoming committee." Egan jokes that she's the first to greet anyone who comes to the farm.
Mya and Soma aren't the only two pups, as Egan also has a six-month-old golden retriever called Sunday. She's hoping that Sunday will be more comfortable with the cows as she will have been around them from a young age, just like Mya.
Since sharing the video, Egan has been amazed by the overwhelming response. Social media users can't get enough of the differences between Mya and Soma.
Egan told Newsweek: "I have a lot of friends and family from the city who have asked questions and want to learn more about dairy farming. The dogs are so different, and I really wanted to showcase how much environmental exposure at a young age changes their behaviors.
"People find humor in the differences and are giving very accurate interpretations of what the dogs were thinking. We have had a lot of questions about farm life and cow comfort as well, which is a huge priority for us, so we are enjoying educating others about that."
In just a matter of days, the viral video has amassed over 230 comments on TikTok.
One comment reads: "those love licks must feel so good to a dog lol like a bigger dog showing love and care."
Another TikTok user wrote: "Just needs some time to warm up."
While another person added: "She said, these big dogs look weird and scary!"
