President Joe Biden's campaign said Wednesday that former President Donald Trump is "playing games" with presidential debates.

Trump shared a post on his Truth Social challenging Biden to a third presidential debate after they agreed to attend two.

"Please let this TRUTH serve to represent that I hereby accept debating Crooked Joe Biden on FoxNews," Trump wrote. "The date will be Wednesday, October 2nd. The Hosts will be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. Thank you, DJT!"

Biden Trump set debates

...

However, Jen O'Malley Dillon, the chair of the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign, issued a statement to Newsweek, saying: "Donald Trump has a long history of playing games with debates: complaining about the rules, breaking those rules, pulling out at the last minute, or not showing up at all – which he's done repeatedly in all three cycles he's run for president."

The statement said that Biden offered to debate Trump "anytime, anywhere, anyplace," and noted that the president made "his terms clear for two one-on-one debates, and Donald Trump accepted those terms.

"No more games. No more chaos, no more debate about debates. We'll see Donald Trump on June 27th in Atlanta – if he shows up," the statement said.

Newsweek reached out to Trump's spokesperson via email for comment.

Earlier Wednesday on X, formerly Twitter, Biden challenged Trump to a debate, saying: "Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020. Since then, he hasn't shown up for a debate."

Shortly after, Biden announced that he had accepted a debate invitation from CNN on June 27, and Trump agreed to the debate moments later. A spokesperson for Trump's campaign said the former president accepted the offer, according to CNN.

Less than an hour later, Biden shared another post on X saying that he accepted a second debate invitation from ABC News for September 10.

"Trump says he'll arrange his own transportation. I'll bring my plane, too. I plan on keeping it for another four years," Biden said.

Trump later accepted the invitation to the second debate, saying: "It is my great honor to accept the CNN Debate against Crooked Joe Biden, the WORST PRESIDENT in the History of the United States and a true Threat to Democracy, on June 27th. Likewise, I accept the ABC News Debate against Crooked Joe on September 10th. Thank you, DJT!"

Trump skipped all of the Republican primary debates before becoming the GOP's presumptive nominee.
