Vice President JD Vance is scheduled to appear on The Megyn Kelly Show as he promotes his new book, placing him in conversation with a conservative commentator who has recently clashed with President Donald Trump over his Iran rhetoric.
Tuesday's appearance is part of a broader media tour for Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith, Vance's new memoir about his conversion to Catholicism and the role of faith in his public life. The tour has included an interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity and Vance’s debut on ABC’s The View.
It comes as Vance faces questions about his political future, his role in the administration’s Iran policy and whether he could seek the Republican presidential nomination in 2028. U.S. and Iranian officials are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding in Geneva on June 19 aimed at ending the Iran war and opening further negotiations.

During an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning, the vice president said: "I have no doubt that the president of the United States is going to be very supportive of anything that I ultimately decide to do. But we really just haven’t talked about what that thing will be.”
Vance said he would consider the possibility after this year’s midterm elections.
JD Vance to Appear on Megyn Kelly’s Show
Vance is set to appear on Kelly’s show on The Megyn Kelly Channel at noon ET and the episode will be available afterward on podcast platforms. The announcement drew criticism from some figures on the pro-Trump right.
Laura Loomer, a far-right political activist, wrote on X in response to the announcement: "Bizarre. Why would our Vice President go on Megyn Kelly’s show?... I find this to be insane."
Brent Scher, editor-in-chief of the Daily Wire, wrote: "Trump called her a loser, low IQ, nut job two months ago. Now his vice president is going on her show to sell his book."
Timeline of the Feud Between Megyn Kelly and President Donald Trump
2015: First GOP Debate Clash
During the first Republican primary debate in 2015, moderator Kelly questioned Trump about past remarks about women, asking: "You've called women you don't like 'fat pigs,' 'dogs,' 'slobs,' and 'disgusting animals.' Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect as president?"
Trump replied: "What I say is what I say. And honestly, Megyn, if you don't like it, I'm sorry, I've been very nice to you, although I could probably maybe not be, based on the way you have treated me*.* But I wouldn't do that to you."
He later posted on Twitter: "Wow, @megynkelly really bombed tonight.”
In the days after the debate, Trump continued to criticize Kelly, telling CNN: "There was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever,” in a remark interpreted as a reference to menstruation, though Trump later said that he was referring to her nose.
2016: The Tensions Ease
After nearly a year of public clashes, Kelly and Trump met for a one‑on‑one interview. Trump said he thought her debate question was "unfair” but did not blame her personally, and the feud appeared to cool for several years.
2024: Kelly Endorses Trump
In the 2024 presidential election, Kelly endorsed Trump, telling a Republican rally in Pennsylvania: "He will be a protector of women. And it’s why I’m voting for him."

2026: Renewed Clash Over Iran
A year into Trump’s second term, Kelly again clashed publicly with the president.
Kelly was among several Trump-aligned commentators who criticized the president as his public warnings to Tehran escalated. On Easter Sunday, the president said in a post on Truth Social that a whole civilization could be obliterated if Tehran did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
These remarks came amid broader fissures within the MAGA movement and drew sharp criticism from several prominent Trump supporters and right-leaning commentators, including Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Candace Owens.
Kelly criticized Trump’s Iran rhetoric on the April 7 episode of The Megyn Kelly Show, saying: "I am sick of this s***! I’m sick of it. Can’t he just behave like a normal human?" She later added: "You don’t threaten to wipe out an entire civilization. We’re talking about civilians, just casually in a social media post.”
Trump responded to this criticism in a lengthy post on Truth Social, writing: "I know why Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens and Alex Jones have all been fighting me for years, especially by the fact that they think it is wonderful for Iran, the Number One State Sponsor of Terror, to have a Nuclear Weapon—Because they have one thing in common, Low IQs.
"They’re stupid people, they know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it too!"
