ONCE AGAIN, THE BRITISH ARE SHOCKED--SHOCKED!--THIS time, by the indelicate utterings of the magazines that their teenage daughters are reading. Along with the usual fashion spreads, advice on relationships and makeovers, megapopular grrrl magazines like Bliss, Sugar, Minx, Mizz and More! spout such salacious headlines as POSITION OF THE FORTNIGHT, HORNY HOROSCOPES, GIRLS WHO SELL SEX FOR DESIGNER CLOTHES and SNOGGING SIR: I CAN'T RESIST MY TEACH. Editors say they are just addressing what's already on young girls' minds. Parents complain that the magazines are teaching their 10-to 15-year-olds to become sex-crazed. Critics have pressured some of the magazines' editors into adding occasional editorial warnings about the dangers of underage sex and, er, snogging to their pages. But it may be too late: a recent poll by MTV shows that the average British teenager first has sex at 15i--younger than the average teen in any other European country.
