When a plain-vanilla rental just won't do, consider slipping into a vintage ride. For a little more than you'd spend on that basic Taurus, you could tool around in a '68 Pontiac GTO or a '69 Caddy. Here's where you can give in to your nostalgia. Sports Car Rentals, Batesville, Va.: It carries English sports cars, a rarity. Try out a 1959 MGA or 1960 Triumph TR3 for $95 a day or $180 for the weekend (sportscarrentals .com). Classic Cars Plus, St. Louis: Take a drive down Route 66 in a 1939 Ford Street Rod or a 1966 Chevy Camaro SS. The rental includes 150 miles at $200 to $300 per day (classiccarsforrent. com). Beverly Hills Rent-A-Car, Beverly Hills, Calif. Stop by Snoop Dogg's house for a little bonding over the 1969 Cadillac DeVille you rented for, yikes, $400 a day (bhrentacar.com). Film Cars, Brooklyn, N.Y.: Its 66 cars date back to 1919, and are usually hired out to film-production companies. But for $350 to $700, a driver will chauffeur you around town for 3.5 hours in a vintage Rolls-Royce or Checker taxicab (filmcars.com).
