Toronto returned from the Olympic break on Wednesday night with a 4-2 loss at the Tampa Bay Lightning and remains six points back in the Eastern Conference wild-card hunt. The Maple Leafs fell behind 3-0 before John Tavares scored on the power play with 3:41 remaining, and Matthew Knies got the Leafs back to a two-goal deficit with 2:47 to go. Toronto entered the break with three straight wins.

The Panthers, last in the Atlantic and eight points out of the wild card, could get captain Alexander Barkov back to help with the playoff push for the two-time defending Stanley Cup champions. Barkov, out since September after tearing two ligaments in his right knee, said on Tuesday he could make his season debut “soon.” Sam Reinhart leads Florida with 27 goals and 55 points, while Brad Marchand has 25 markers. Sergei Bobrovsky is 21-17-1 with three shutouts, an .871 save percentage, and 3.13 goals against average.

Auston Matthews tops the Maple Leafs with 26 goals, while Tavares’ goal on Wednesday gave him 21 on the season. William Nylander tops the squad with 54 points, with Joseph Woll coming in 13-7-4 with two shutouts, a .910 save percentage, and 2.92 GAA.

This is a great NHL matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
