Duke comes off a run of three straight wins over ranked opponents, most recently claiming a 66-60 road victory at then-No. 7 Michigan State on Dec. 6. Cameron Boozer gave the Blue Devils the lead for good with a pair of free throws with 1:35 remaining and finished with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Caleb Foster scored 12 points, and Nikolas Khamenia added 10 points and nine boards as Duke was able to survive the defensive slugfest in which neither team shot 40%.
Lipscomb last played on Dec. 7, winning its fifth straight game with a 92-58 pummeling of visiting Alabama A&M. Grant Asman went for 15 points and eight rebounds, Mateo Esmeraldo added 14 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, and Kennedy Okpara came off the bench for a game-high 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting.
Tuesday’s game marks the first-ever meeting between the programs. Boozer leads Duke with averages of 23.0 points and 9.9 rebounds, with Isaiah Evans scoring 12.2 points per game and Patrick Ngongba II getting 11.9 points a night. Asman paces the Bisons, averaging 13.7 points and 6.4 boards, while Ross Candelino nets 11.8 points per game and Esmeraldo posts 10.4 points and 6.6 assists per contest.
