What a golden retriever does when she thinks her owner is out has left the internet laughing at the antics.
Kait (@kaitandtheretrievers) shared footage on TikTok of her pooch sunbathing on the dining room table, much to the amusement of viewers. The video has since garnered 183,900 likes and 1.8 million views.
"My dog forgetting that I'm home and learning that she sunbathes on my table," she wrote as the text overlaid on the video.

"Would explain why there's always dog hair on the table...," she captioned the post.
The clip shows the golden retriever sprawled across the table in sheer bliss, basking in the sunlight. As the camera captures the unexpected lounging spot, a black Labrador peeks his head out from the doorway, appearing to look at his mom, who is filming from above.
"I told her not to mom," she wrote over the video, playfully mimicking what the Labrador might be thinking.
For those dealing with similar canine antics, experts recommend positive reinforcement training to discourage dogs from hopping onto furniture.
According to the British charity Dogs Trust, providing alternative, designated resting areas such as comfortable dog beds can help redirect the behavior. Rewarding your dog for using their own space while discouraging unwanted behaviors through consistent training is key.
Golden retrievers are known for their affectionate and social nature. According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), they are highly intelligent, eager to please, and adaptable to various environments.
TikTok users were quick to react to the hilarious moment, flooding the comments section with their own experiences and jokes.

"Dog: can hear a cheese wrapper open from 5 miles away... also dog: forgets human is home and does things they aren't supposed to," joked one viewer.
"The other dog is like look at your good boy now," said another user, referring to the Labrador's reaction.
"I mean at least she's polite enough to lay on the runner!" noted another amused commenter.
Some dog owners couldn't relate, with one saying, "My dogs NEVER go on my table or counters. They know better."
Others shared their own surprising discoveries: "I discovered that my dog walks across the living room table to get from couch to couch," one dog mom wrote.
Another pet parent chimed in with their own solution: "Our dog used to sleep on the dining room table also. It was the only window he could see out of, so we put his blanket on the table to make it more comfortable. We never used the dining room anyway."
