Hollywood actor Frank Adonis has died in Las Vegas, according to multiple reports Thursday. He was 83 years old.
The actor, who starred as the mobster Anthony Stabile in the 1990 classic film Goodfellas, was battling a number of health ailments upon his death Wednesday, TMZ reported. His wife, Denise Adonis, told TMZ that he had been sick for several years and struggled with kidney problems.
"He will be missed. He was a great father and an amazing husband. He helped all his friends he could. Great writer, director, and actor. He was my best friend," Denise Adonis said in a statement to TMZ.

The actor was on dialysis and spent the last nine days of his life on a ventilator. His family decided to let him go peacefully after spending one final Christmas with him, according to TMZ.
In addition to Goodfellas, Frank Adonis starred in a number of Martin Scorsese films, including Raging Bull and Casino.
The Brooklyn native got his start on the big screen when he appeared in the 1971 film The French Connection, although he didn't get a credit for his minor role. He landed parts in a number of other movies, including Lucky Luciano, The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight and Shaft's Big Score! before his box-office breakthrough in Raging Bull.
Frank Adonis also starred in blockbusters like Wall Street, Bad Lieutenant, Wolfen, True Romance and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
He had more than 40 acting credits to his name, some of which included guest spots on television shows, such as The Sopranos, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and New York Undercover. His final acting credit was for his role in 2017's Proximity to Power.
