Fortnite update 7.10 is live on PS4 as version 1.97. While the 2GB patch may not feature the Driftboard like was originally expected, there are tons of quality-of-life fixes available across Battle Royale, Creative and Save the World. Epic's official patch notes outline the full details.

As was heavily implied by Epic prior to the release of Fortnite update 7.10, today's patch mostly focuses on quality-of-life fixes across all modes. In Battle Royale, the main tweaks include a sizable nerf to the Heavy Assault Rifle, while also making the Stormwing planes slightly less OP than their original implementation. It's a bit of a shame the Driftboard didn't make the cut, but, especially after the recent Infinity Blade fiasco, it's probably best for Epic to take its time to ensure everything about the feature is totally and completely balanced. The Frostnite concept also sounds like a pretty interesting experience for Save the World players, as does the ability to downcraft weapons for a lower currency cost. None of this stuff drastically alters what we know about Fortnite, but it should make the experience feel better overall.

The main draw worth noting here is the 14 Days of Fortnite promotion, which begins later today. With new Challenges, skins and weapons available across all modes for the next two weeks, we imagine that's where most of this update's new content comes from. 7.10 may seem a little boring now, but there's still a flurry of exciting and unannounced developments to come.

Fortnite is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and mobile. Update 7.10 is identical across platforms.
