Fortnite fans just got over the realization that Tilted Towers would not be destroyed by a meteorite on April 18, but attention has since shifted to April 23. The latest tease from the game's official Twitter account suggests something big is on the way and China is somehow involved.

The tweet, posted late Thursday evening, features a picture of Jonesy's passport with a destination stamped for China on April 23, 2018. The caption is equally vague, suggesting "the Battle Bus is taking off."

The lack of details has, of course, sent the minds of theorists into overdrive. The alleged reasons for the post range from simple to complicated, so we're here to help you sift through the noise to understand the major ideas everyone's talking about.

Let's start on the simpler end of the spectrum with the highly anticipated fourth season of Battle Royale. We've yet to hear any concrete details about it in terms of dates or cosmetic themes, so maybe April 23 is when that information will be revealed. In fact, it's possible the theme of the season might have something to do with Chinese heritage. We've seen those design muscles flexed with the Chinese New Year skins in Battle Royale and Zodiac weapons in Save The World, so it's not unthinkable for some of those stylings to expand in the future.

Possibly more tantalizing than that, however, is the possibility that Fortnite Season 4 might actually feature a brand-new Battle Royale map set in China. April 23 would, again, be its supposed date of reveal.

In case you haven't heard about it enough this week, there are even lingering thoughts the meteorite might somehow be involved. As Twitter user RisKK SB put it, the April 23 date is strikingly close to the arrival of the real-world Lyrid Meteor Shower set to peak on April 22. Combine that truth with fringe speculation about the world ending on April 23, and the idea is that Fortnite's Battle Royale world may be destroyed by meteors when that day comes. With their home in shambles, Jonesy and others might move to China, the site of a new map.

From basic to elaborate, it's difficult to discern rumors from reality in situations like these. The only thing we know is that Epic Games has set players up for a reveal on April 23. Some of these theories may be partially true, but we won't know for sure until the day comes. Sit tight, and enjoy the game's latest update while you wait. Epic has been announcing new content on Mondays lately, so we'll have all the answers soon.

Fortnite is in early access on PS4, Xbox One, PC and iOS.
