Though it has not been announced yet, FBI Season 3 is expected to be slightly shorter than the previous two editions of the series from Law & Order creator Dick Wolf. NCIS' current seasons, for example, is set to be eight episodes shorter, as coronavirus safety measures make the show both more expensive and more time-consuming to produce. As such, a 16 or 18-episode Season 3 is likely for FBI.

Cable subscribers or users of services like Hulu Plus Live TV and YouTube TV are able to livestream the latest episodes of FBI as they air on CBS via the network's website and app. All users have to do is visit the "watch live" page and enter their TV provider details.

Users without cable, however, are still able to watch episodes of FBI Season 3 online for free. Shortly after airing, episodes will be made available on the CBS app to watch free with ads for users in the U.S.

To watch episodes online without ads, users will have to subscribe to CBS All Access, which is expected to get the episodes the day after they air. After a week-long trial, the streaming costs $9.99 a month (or $99.99 a year) to watch without ads. The streamer also has a package with ads for $5.99 a month ($59.99 a year).

The previous two seasons of FBI are not currently streaming on any service but are available to buy via series passes on online retailers like Amazon, Apple TV and Google Play.

What to expect from FBI Season 3

FBI is opening its latest season with a topical episode that will also introduce a new cast member to the CBS show. The synopsis for the Season 3 premiere, titled "Never Trust a Stranger," reads: "The team welcomes a new member, Special Agent Tiffany Wallace (Katherine Renee Turner), as they search for killers who orchestrated a mass shooting at a media company, and OA's personal connection with the case threatens to cloud his judgement."

After taking a number of episodes off as maternity leave, FBI lead actor Missy Peregrym is back in the new season, meaning her character's undercover mission is over.

FBI Season 3 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CT on CBS.
