Grab your ball glove and team jersey—it's time for a trip to the ballpark! Minor League baseball teams field MLB's future playmakers, so heading to your closest stadium lets you root, root, root for your favorite phenoms even before they reach the big show. Plus, you'll find more-affordable ticket prices, cooler vibes and more giveaways every night than you would at a Major League game. Check out our game-winning list of Double-A ballparks; a fun night in the stands is sure to be a hit with your family.

These 10 Double-A ballparks were selected by our featured panelists and contributors and voted on by readers as the best of the best.

1. Dunkin' Park, home of the Hartford Yard Goats

Against the backdrop of the Connecticut River in downtown Hartford you'll find Dunkin' Park, where you can watch pro baseball's up-and-comers. With a name like Yard Goats, you'd expect to see actual goats—and you will, just behind center field. Loads of events, from baseball card swaps and kickball tournaments, coupled with delicious local food (and doughnuts, of course), make this ballpark a grand slam for fans.

2. Hodgetown, home of the Amarillo Sod Poodles

What's a sod poodle? It's an obscure nickname for prairie dogs, and Amarillo loved the term so much it became the name of the city's new MiLB team. Hodgetown's wide-open concourse, kids' play area and Texas barbecue galore give the stadium a fun mix of big-city facilities and small-town charm. Treat your family to seats in the Dugout Suites, which share the same walkway players use to enter their dugouts.

3. Synovus Park, home of the Columbus Clingstones

Way down yonder on the Chattahoochee is Synovus Park, a nearly hundred-year-old stadium beautifully modernized to host the inaugural season of the Clingstones. You can sample foodie-approved snacks at every turn, including funnel cakes smothered in Georgia peaches. Before the game, wander the ballpark's riverside walking trails, where you'll find a monument to the 1996 Summer Olympics softball competition held there.

4. Delta Dental Stadium, home of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats

While the players for this Toronto Blue Jays affiliate are incredibly talented, the greatest celebrity at Delta Dental Stadium is Casey the bat dog. When you aren't petting Casey at her popular meet-and-greet, check out the cool waterfall and tiki bar added during a recent renovation. Your family will love Trivia Tuesday, Waggin' Wednesday pet-friendly nights and free Koozies every Thursday.

5. FirstEnergy Stadium, home of the Reading Fightin Phils

The Eastern League's oldest ballpark, FirstEnergy Stadium has maintained its classic 1950s feel. But it's also thoroughly modern, with the MiLB's first LED screen, a massive food court, a concert stage and plenty of accessible seating. With its huge fireworks shows, pools off right field and picnic areas with hearty buffets, you'll quickly see why the Fightin Phils' home field is a top destination in Pennsylvania.

6. Riders Field, home of the Frisco RoughRiders

If pairing a baseball game with a relaxing float on an inner tube sounds like your vibe, Riders Field aims to please with a lazy river overlooking right field. Housed in one of the largest stadiums in the Texas League, this popular Texas Rangers farm team keeps fans coming back with party decks and porches (and a saloon!) along with Tex-Mex cuisine that's worth the price of admission.

7. AT&T Field, home of the Chattanooga Lookouts

On the banks of the Tennessee River, AT&T Field hosts the stars of tomorrow for MLB's Cincinnati Reds. This staple of the Southern League has produced baseball greats like Joey Votto along with a surprise hall of famer—Looie the Lookout, the team's award-winning mascot. Head to Lookouts Lounge for drinks and great views of the field and river and, on Fridays, stick around for the fireworks show.

8. Riverwalk Stadium, home of the Montgomery Biscuits

Home of the Tampa Bay Rays Double-A affiliate, Riverwalk Stadium has a cool industrial feel from its former life as a train shed and its position among the old warehouses on the Alabama River. But the most fascinating part of attending a Biscuits game? Staff members shoot actual biscuits into the stands, so keep your head up and your hands ready for a flying puck of flaky dough!

9. Toyota Field, home of the Rocket City Trash Pandas

When Toyota Field isn't holding wine festivals, movie nights or yoga sessions in the outfield, it's the home of the Southern League's wildly popular Trash Pandas. Get a tray of Champy's chicken, and then take your family to the Kids Zone for bounce houses and ski ball. You'll definitely want pics with Sprocket the Trash Panda before visiting the Junkyard store for T-shirts emblazoned with baseball's favorite raccoon.

10. Regions Field, home of the Birmingham Barons

Love the buzzy atmosphere of a Minor League stadium? You'll find it in spades at Regions Field in downtown Birmingham. Wednesdays are dog friendly, Fridays are for fireworks, and every game day is for families thanks to a Wiffle ball field and batting cages. During the seventh inning, be sure to wave at the children's hospital that overlooks the outfield; the kids there love watching the games and waving back.
